Week 3 of the Winter Series saw our own Thomas Arkell deliver a jet-pack sprint up the H-Berg to take first place in the men’s 234. Boom. Great to see Nesta Furguson (Lee Valley Youth CC) take second place – a return to ELV Winter Series form after some excellent results in last year’s series. Sean Purser (St Ives CC) turned last week’s sixth place into third to complete the podium.

Stoked to see Joscelin Lowden (Fusion RT) take first place in the women’s E1234 after an eight-month racing haitus – you might expect the 2017 National Hill Climb champion to be reasonably untroubled by the Hoggenberg and so it proved. Helen McKay of Les Filles and Mathilde Pauls of Sigma Sport x Threo took second and third place, respectively. Thanks to all who raced.

Congratulations to Jonny Bodey of Cambridge University CC on first place in the men’s 4th cat! And to Paul Turton (Horchurch CC) on second, and Rishi Athwal (CC Hackney) in third.
Points results are available here. Thanks so much to everyone who raced, supported and marshalled. Hope to see you again! Pre-entry for all subsequent weeks is available on British Cycling and will save you a fiver on EOL prices.
… And if you haven’t already done so, check out Ian Lambert’s awesome photos from the day here. Thanks for making our boys look like movie stars, Ian.
